Hoowla

Case management software for conveyancing firms

Cloud-based case management software for conveyancing solicitors and licensed conveyancers, covering client onboarding, AML and fraud checks, document automation, e-signatures and legal accounting.

About Hoowla

Hoowla is a practice management system that happens to include compliance, rather than a compliance tool that happens to include case management. The centre of gravity is the matter itself — tasks, documents, client communication and legal accounting in one file — with AML and fraud checks run through a third-party integration (Confirmly) rather than built natively.

What It Does

  • Case management: matter tracking, unlimited document storage, customisable workflows
  • Client portal: secure client access to track progress and upload documents
  • Automation: auto-chase reminders for outstanding documents, template letter generation
  • Compliance: AML and fraud prevention checks via Confirmly
  • Signing: electronic signature capability
  • Accounting: legal accounts management alongside the conveyancing matter
  • Post-completion: HM Land Registry and SDLT submission, Law Society form support

Position

The per-completed-case pricing on conveyancing work — with no charge for a matter that opens and then falls through — shifts risk onto Hoowla rather than the firm, which is a different commercial model to the seat-licensed practice management systems it otherwise resembles. Firms already using tmgroup or Credas for searches and identity checks can run Hoowla around them as the case file; the products are not mutually exclusive.

The company states it is trusted by over 350 firms.
