GetAgent

GetAgent is a UK estate-agent comparison platform: a home seller enters a postcode and gets a shortlist of local agents ranked on real sale-performance data — percentage of asking price achieved, average sale time, and number of properties listed nearby — drawn from HM Land Registry records and major property portals. The service is free for sellers; GetAgent is paid by agents through a referral fee charged only if a seller instructs an agent found through the platform and the sale completes.

Background

Founded in October 2014 by Colby Short, Peter Thum-Bonanno, and Sebastian Powell, GetAgent launched in February 2015. Colby Short is CEO and Peter Thum-Bonanno is CTO. The company is backed by Channel 4 (Ventures), Seedcamp, 500 Startups, and Marchmont Ventures, though specific funding amounts are not publicly disclosed. GetAgent reports having helped over 1.2 million UK homeowners since launch, with 8,000+ agents signed up to its referral network and around 20,000 homesellers using the service monthly. It is headquartered in London’s Shoreditch and, per LinkedIn, has 51–200 employees.
